So it’s the wedding day, and your gal pals are around you to help make this day the best and the brightest; most memorable for you. The ‘aww’ moment for sure, with plenty of emotions running amok and the moment when you would be tying the knot with your soulmate too! Plenty of love, wishes, and abundant blessings to you, and we wish that everything goes as per plan and per your desires. But wait, what if there is a bridal emergency?
Touch-ups to carrying feminine products just in case the wedding falls on one of those days; you have got to be prepped up and ready! Your bridesmaids are around you to help always for sure, but they too would be busy meeting, greeting and socializing with everyone. If the alarm bells ring, you would need back up. This is why, stocking up on the essentials would be the right thing to do; one of the trustworthiest of girlfriends around can keep the bag handy. Here are seven very important things you should carry in your bridal makeup bag at the wedding.
1. Pressed powders
Why do we need pressed powders at the wedding? The answer is very simple. Whilst you would be taking the SaatPheras, posing with relatives and friends for pictures, and the hot camera lights would be on you, chances are that the makeup would melt a little or there would be a very unhealthy shine on your face with the natural oils accumulating. This would create hot spots on the face when camera captures a click. The output wouldn’t be too desirable when you watch the photo album later on. To avoid this, pressed powders or translucent powders should be kept in the bag. A dab or two once every hour can help suppress the shine and the meltdown.
2. Blush
Too many cheeks to cheek kisses from family and friends would wipe out the healthy blush and glow on the cheeks. This would be very obvious, and you cannot expect everyone to give you an air-to-air kiss; it doesn’t happen that way. Most importantly, when too many cheeks to cheek or lip to cheek kisses happen, chances are that there would be lipstick marks on the cheek and the blush would in time fade away. You don’t want the rest of the night to be without a rosy glow on the cheeks, now do you. Hence a stroke of blush once every two hours on a light note can help maintain the continuity of the blush and glow. Carry it without fail!
3. A glossy lipstick
Preferably a satin finish lipstick should be carried with you in your emergency bridal bag. While the wedding reception is on, chances are you would be greeting most you see with a kiss and hug; your lips would be wearing out the cosmetic it has been embossed with. Moreover, you wouldn’t be drinking any liquids too long, which can leave you a little dehydrated and that would show on your lips. To avoid the parched look and pale lips from happening, carry a small tube of glossy satin finish lipstick on you. A little touch up now and then helps maintain the healthy look of the lips, and your smile would be enhanced through the night.
4. Gel eyeliner
There would be tears of joy flowing away, which is why carrying a pot of gel liner would be needed for the eyelids to stay dressed up all night. Smudging of the liner would happen when the liner meets the tears, and you don’t want to look like a gothic bride through the night. Carry a pot of gel liner with you to get the touch ups done now and then or as and when needed. Ensure that the style of the liner remains the same though, or else the difference would be noticed.
5. Sponge
Carrying sponge with you helps a lot. The humble makeup tool helps dab away the excess shine on the face and also helps absorb excess moisture too. If you feel a little sweaty or maybe feel that the shine is too much on the face; sponge dab the area around the nose, the forehead and the cheeks to diffuse the shine and do away with the unhealthy glow as well. Who knew that a simple sponge would be so useful and helpful?
6. Mascara
Mascara would dry out after an hour or so, and if you shed a tear or too, it may also run amok. Unless you are wearing waterproof mascara, which in some cases can also run out upon contact with eye tears, chances are your long lashes, or false lashes wouldn’t have the oomph factor on them all night long. A touch up once every hour with two strokes of mascara keeps the lashes strong and glowing.
7. Wet tissues
Keep a box of them in the bag, because you never know when they would be needed the most. For certain, if you get all to emotional when meeting your near ones at the wedding and should you shed a tear, the tissues will help instantly to prevent eyeliner smudging. If you don’t have sponge around, the tissues would help dab away the sweat and oil from the face, and if you have to sneeze or cough and your kerchief isn’t enough, the tissues can come in handy in hygienic ways. And there are many more reasons why you would need the tissue too; someone feeding you something and the remnants remain on the lips-tissues would wipe that off too.
