Sit and brainstorm the same with your wedding planner, and we are sure you would come up with mind blowing ideas. To make it easier for you, we have decided to pitch in with some of the ideas we have seen around, which you can use as inspiration. The aim here is not to copy paste, but to seek inspiration and come up with your own creative ways. Check them out!
1. Wavy mandaps
If you are having an outdoor wedding, let the theme be a wavy one. How do you do that? There would be plenty of Satin and Silk off-White to Cream sheets draped right above the mandap, in waves and layers- creating an illusion of calm waves over the zone where the main rituals would be held.
2. Romantic soft weddings
To create more romance with the ambiance around, and if you are having an outdoor mandap for the rituals to take place in, play with soft dim lanterns as lighting options. Nothing speaks of more love and soft cozy mushy feelings, than a couple of white paper lanterns spread across the lawn on a dusky wedding evening.
3. Pea dance light floors
To make the dance floor oomph up and chic, you could use white fairy lights and pea lights on the ceiling. The whole hall can be dimly lit with spotlights right along the seating arrangement in hush-hush tones; the reflection of the fairy and pea lights fall onto the floor, making the ambiance look fairy like and magical!
4. Statement floral arrangements
The statement chandelier floral arrangement over the tables would be a very luxe affair to have flaunted at your wedding. This is best for reception decor and for winter weddings, which denotes elegance and romance, feelings of togetherness and magical affairs.
5. Neon lit decor
Neon lit decor for the reception lawn or the courtyard comes right in time for Winter weddings. The look is very mesmerizing and fantasy like for sure, with waterfall flower arrangements on the circumference of the lawn. Spruce it up with dim lighting around and white fair lights draping the reception tables.
6. Say it with ferns and candles
Not a word about this, because the involvement of candles with green ferns says it all. Pristine White flowers for the decor and White candles in all shapes and sizes, stacked by the side of the aisle, makes for a very romantic touch - a neutral toned drapery for the mandap makes the look come out as neat and elegant.
7. Mughal influences
For the center of the table, think of bringing in a touch of the Mughals with Indian tone inspired candle holders. Place tea lights on them and surround the same with flowers, in various hues and shades.
8. Involve colorful umbrellas
An idea to throw in plenty of colors to make the reception area for a daytime winter wedding would be to have colorful umbrellas all around. Plan your seating arrangements accordingly and place colored umbrellas in each seating station!
9. Have a quirky wedding photo booth
A quirky wedding photo booth set up is a must at every Indian wedding. However, having just a space decked with flowers and props can be boring. You need a statement prop to make it fun and eye cat catchy too- a bike maybe or possibly a cycle or an auto-rickshaw all decorated would be a fine statement prop to place.
10. Bling for the reception tables
Easy to emulate and affordable too, think of bling and glass to deck up the reception tables with at your wedding. Involve statement faux jewellery statements to dress up the tables with, and have the chair covers dusted with areas of Gold or Silver.
11. Creative wedding decor
Instead of the streamers and balloons and plenty of flowers for decor around, think of what leafy greens can add to the ambiance? Work on the same with the help of Kari gars and create origami decor ideas for the mise-en-scene to look beautiful in!
12. Something for the girls
Have a bangle bar at the wedding reception area, or maybe when you have your sangeet and haldi. This would be a bar where a vendor could sit and display various bangles in varied styles and designs, and if someone wishes to buy or try, they are most welcome.
13. Quirk up the food and drinks bar for kids
Kids love color and are always attracted to various shades and hues. Play with colors for the food and drinks bar for kids to be dolled up in. Colourful balloon and triangles, with colourful glasses and fresh fruit juices to serve- kids would be happy!
14. Have a focal desi touch around
One spot of the wedding venue should have a focal desi spot, where people can take selfies and group fies if need be. Use a cultural or a traditional theme, a concept or idea denoting real Indian moods and emotions or a lifestyle too.
15. A gaddi for the booze
For most weddings in India, alcohol would flow and that for sure would be a place much crowded. Instead of having an indoor bar, you could have an outdoor one, quirked up! A replica of a truck all decked up with flowers and desi tones can be placed in the reception area; drinks and finger food can be served here.
So here were very quirky yet fun and elegant ways to make the decor at your weddings, outstanding and memorable. Write in and let us know how you felt with these ideas!
